 NSHA: Our First Forty Years

The current exhibit features many examples of New Scotland Historical Association members sharing their passion for local history and its preservation in the first forty years of the Association's existence. Displayed are pictures and artifacts which highlighted the good times and the history learned; events from everyday living, like attending a one- room schoolhouse or working in the family garden or researching the history of the family farm show today's members many different "pictures" of the past.

New display boards enable the viewing of veterans' pictures, Pound Award winners, Town Historic Markers, preserved indentures, and "traveling" exhibits.

The exhibit itself is one of many ways the members of NSHA shared their history during a year-long celebration. There was also participation in the Memorial Day Parade, tours and a new Tour Book to encourage people to visit all parts of our Town. A memory book, Times of Our Lives: New Scotland Memories, was written by people who grew up in New Scotland and shared stories of that growing up. Several local churches joined the celebration of local history with presentations by congregants describing elements of their church history.
